Anyone ever use one of these for a chute?

I saw a similar link back on the old Rocketry Forum.

The only problem is the handles. I wonder how hard they are to remove without damaging the chute. At least the 10' version doesn't have the handles.

Nah...I wouldn't remove the handles I would attach my shroud line to them! Have you ever seen kids play with one of those? I could be wrong but those handles have to be the strongest link on the chute.

I have a couple of them, but haven't tried them in a rocket yet. Target had them clearanced out for $6! Maybe this weekend.

If you do please let me know how it goes. I've seen the way kids tug and pull on them (even really big kids) so I have to imagine they are up to the task of holding up a 7 lb rocket for 40 to 50 seconds.

Seems like it would work, but you would have to determine the proper shroud line length/configuration so that it would remain open properly. Let me know how it works out...
