Anyone ever piston launch a sustainer as a second stage, from a booster?

Looking at the Estes Argent. It seems like there might be room for a piston launcher and use the top part after the transition as a second stage. Anything like this been done before? Do tell!

Just make sure to read through it all thoroughly, I have been eyeballing it for a while, but it looks like a really tough build.

Still .... looks like a hoot to fly.

I've been eyeing one myself, that's how I knew where it was. I like the idea of learning how to make transitions that way, and it'd be a good way to learn to do HP style staging with a small and "cheap" upper stage.
