I'm looking for a good battery charger for 1s and 2s lipo cells for altimeters.
Wondering if I can run this off a 12 volt battery or will it provide too many amps.

I have that charger. It has a wall transformer that provides power to the charger. 15V DC at 1.5A so if you have that DC source then you can use it to charge in the field.

The charger that I use and recommend is a Turnigy P606 charger, it's both AC and DC so you can easily charge all your batteries at home and recharge or top them off out in the field. It will charge 1S-6S batteries, and it can charge multiple batteries at once too (i.e. three 2S batteries at a time). It's about $40 from Hobby King.

This model appears to be out of stock everywhere.

Any other recommendations?

I’ve been really happy with this one;

https://www.amazon.com/HTRC-Charger-Balance-Discharger-Batteries/dp/B07NQ9K5V7/
2 channel (charges 2 batteries simultaneously , 10 amps per channel.
Easy to program
comes with ac power supply, and a dc cable with clips for use in the field. If using in your car, I would make a xt60 adapter, or just buy a cable like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Cigarette-Lighter-Female-HOBBYMATE-chargers/dp/B07RXCLG7M
this is not my main charger. I have a much larger, more power and more complex charger for most of my toys.

Thanks for the link, Alex.

For better or worse, I bought this one based on the reviews and the video...fingers crossed...

And I didn't think about doing charging in the field. Just bought extra batteries.
