My understanding of this situation is that Estes shipped some vendors by mistake the B.O.S.S. models prior to street date.
Estes was able to get most of the models returned to them but some of the direct retailers did not return the B.O.S.S. kits and decided to sell them. This could affect these retailers in future dealings with Estes by possibly being dropped or having their discount rate changed so they have to pay more for the product.

That's not entirely true. The person I got them from sold them to me before he was notified they were shipped by mistake. And I sold and shipped the last one I had the very same day that I got the call about the mixup.
I Had just returned home from the Post Office Minutes before I got the call.
Estes shouldn't blame others for their mistakes.

The BOSS is on page 38 of the 2022 Estes catalog (which can be found on their website) and the MSRP is shown as $34.99.
There was an email from Estes saying they were giving away some Orange Bullets signed by Vern Estes, with a link to the BOSS rocket, but when you click that link it just says "This content is password protected." : (

I mentioned that on their Facebook page this morning and they acknowledged posting the link by accident. They confirmed that it will be available on 1/7 though.
Dang, I was hoping it still being password protected was a mistake and I could get my order placed.
Chris Michielssen announced on his blog that his build of the B.O.S.S. will start this Friday.

My email traffic from Estes is hit or miss, I seem to get all the education emails but rarely the product announcements - I’ve checked my subscription status on the website so I shouldn’t be missing those, but I do. No worries for me, it’s nice to know stuff since I probably have enough kits and supplies to last until my eyesight isn’t good enough to build anything anymore

Now that the B.O.S.S kit by Estes is out for grabs I think it’s “ridiculous” that people on eBay are grabbing them up and trying to selling them for more money. It’s not like its a one time deal for this kit. Everyone including myself will be ordering one and when they run out they will replenish their stock in a short time. This kit will be around for a while. What will happen over time everyone will own one and there will be an over stock issue then they will eventually go on sale. Following that sales will slow to where they will be OOP. This is quite some time away but to grab them and sell them for more money, that’s crazy. No one is going to pay more on eBay when you can get them cheeper at an wholesaler.
Dose anyone know more about the So Long 29mm rocket kit that Estes is suppose to be releasing in 2023? I would like to get that one to. I wish Q-Jet or AeroTech would make a booster motor because of the F15-0 and F15-8 being black powder there is such a high HAZE MAT fee you can’t afford to fly it.
