Repairing the box of rockets needing primer and paint, I noticed a couple with loose fins.
Further investigation reveled that papered fins with mounting tabs were the ones loose.
The cause, is that the paper separation between the tab surface and the body tube.
While looking all the rockets over I discovered something else.
While regular printer paper separates, the one's I used Onion Skin (or Air Mail Paper) on were quite solid.
The conclusion is printer paper is NOT the best to use when papering fins using mounting tabs.
Previously (somewhere in this forum) I had experienced failures between the paper tubes and glassine coating, making sure I remove the glassine before mounting fins on all future builds.
Now the investment of Onion Skin paper is going to mandatory on all build where papered fins with mounting tabs.
All cases of failures where on rockets that had been finished and ready for wet sanding and paint.
The repairs continues...
