So I would interpret this as a second type of RFE to condense the information contained in the report in the PDF/printout
Csv export of the sim table is fine. If pdf export could do that and it fits on the page, thats fine too...
Don't want to put words into DeltaVee's mouth, but I think he just wants the table that appears on the OR sim page. Which should fit fine on a single sheet.

And I agree. A single sheet with many motor choices would be nice.

Hans.
Basically that's it :) a csv would let me do it, and sort on any colum, and print in landscape if needed etc. I would think it'd be the least troublesome for the OR devs some reason. I guess I could load up the code and see for myself but my software dev job literally sucks the life out of me!

Inspired by @James Duffy 's solicitation for his inevitably excellent NARCON talk on Saturday (which I will definitely watch, although probably after-the-fact), I am hereby notifying the world that @JoePfeiffer and Billy Olsen (@wolsen) will be giving a talk on Saturday morning, 10AM EST, all about the new version of OR. There will be dancing girls, a poker tournament, and demos. There's definitely nothing better you could be doing for that hour. Tell all your friends!

I am glad you mentioned this, as I overlooked that I could scroll to the left to see another class for most session times on the vNARCON site. Needless to say, I've changed a few sessions!

We all need more flying Escorts.

RC1 Now Available

The first (and hopefully "only") Release Candidate is now available for download. Link provided after the instructions below, which you should PLEASE READ FIRST:

1) Our goal here is to verify that everything is working correctly, and therefore move to the final release as quickly as possible. So we don't recommend downloading this unless it is your intention to really test it out for us. Otherwise, just hang on and wait for the final release, which should be soon. I'll shortly PM those who previously volunteered to do such testing.

2) The RC versions are properly signed for the various OSes. However, Windows will still harass you and require you to jump through hoops to install and run, which is really quite annoying. Eventually, such warnings should go away with the final release, but in the meantime you'll need to deal with it.

3) The Mac versions, on the other hand, are much friendlier now. All you need to give is a single confirmation and you're up and running.

4) If you have an Apple Silicon Mac, be sure to download the ARM installer.

That's it! Here's the link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1gMMe5mCzVKlT0uTd1LDCXSVSHAsYSwEE?usp=share_link

github automatically creates a jar file after every merge. You can find them at https://github.com/openrocket/openrocket/actions though it takes a little bit of a hunt from there -- click the most recent workflow run from the list, click the "1" under "Artifacts", select the file named "openrocket_build_xxxx" for whatever number is "xxxx". When you download it, it will be a zip file so you'll need to unzip it.
The most recent one as of this writing is at https://github.com/openrocket/openrocket/suites/10605040122/artifacts/528773488

Also, if you grab one of the installers and install OR from it, the directory OR is installed in will contain OpenRocket.jar at the top level, so you can be sure you're looking at exactly the .jar that was used to build the installer.

Good nuf... thanks!
Uh oh.. https://github.com/openrocket/openrocket/suites/10605040122/artifacts/528773488 gives 404

Is there ever going to be support for pods? I just installed the most recent version of OR off the website, and tried to work with my Estes Protostar file from Rocksim, and it doesn't display the fin top nosecones (pods).

Since my copy of Rocksim has become useless due to failed update killing my ability to load motors to run sims (and his recommended procedure to reinstall motor files isn't working), I decided to try Open Rocket. Since several of my designs use pods, this is a problem. :(

Open Rocket has pods. Not sure what you mean by "Is there ever going to be support for pods"? I just created this rocket this morning...

As @lakeroadster mentioned, OpenRocket supports pods. However, pod importing from a RockSim file has been included after the 22.02.beta.05 release. So it will be included in the official 22.02 release.

I'm a bit confused (nothing new...) about the Cg override for the sustainer in the RC release. I am near to finishing up a rocket and I measured the Cg, which didn't quite agree with the calculated value, undoubtedly because of glue, uneven application of paint, etc. So I override the Cg, and click on "override for all subcomponents". So far, so good. However, if I change a subcomponent, it moves the Cg. I would have assumed that the figure entered for the override would take precedence, especially if I am overriding the subcomponents.

Hans.

The more prominent download link is still 15.03, since that's an "official" release. We've got pods in the current beta series, and now in the 22.02 release candidate 1. If you look for that download link, you'll find pods.
