I flew my PML AMRAAM 4 for the first time at the July 30th SEARS 572 Launch in Samson, AL. It flew to 1398 feet on an I211 motor.

I bought this kit from Al's Hobby at Southern Thunder 2005. It is setup for dual deployment. The coupler is an altimeter bay. I used a Perfectflite altimeter and a Rocketman R7C chute.

There are some construction and flight photos at https://sears572.com/gallery/amraaam4

Thanks,

Greg

Interesting, the way you overlapped that picture. It makes the flame have a greenish/yellow tint. Looks good, btw. What was the altitude?

1398 feet. The rocket weight is 7 lbs with no motor. The image above was a collage from Picassa. Here is a better flight photo. There is an interesting bulb shape at the motor nozzle.

That is strange. I've never seen that before. Anyone know what caused it?

That just seems to be a burn characteristic of the I211. Every one i've seen burned like that. I'm not sure exactly how it is caused though.:)

Great vid, looks like a nice straight flight.

Thanks. I enjoyed the PML experience!
