AMRAAM 4 Build and First Flight

I flew my PML AMRAAM 4 for the first time at the July 30th SEARS 572 Launch in Samson, AL. It flew to 1398 feet on an I211 motor.

I bought this kit from Al's Hobby at Southern Thunder 2005. It is setup for dual deployment. The coupler is an altimeter bay. I used a Perfectflite altimeter and a Rocketman R7C chute.

Interesting, the way you overlapped that picture. It makes the flame have a greenish/yellow tint. Looks good, btw. What was the altitude?

1398 feet. The rocket weight is 7 lbs with no motor. The image above was a collage from Picassa. Here is a better flight photo. There is an interesting bulb shape at the motor nozzle.

That just seems to be a burn characteristic of the I211. Every one i've seen burned like that. I'm not sure exactly how it is caused though.
