I am about to purchase a new altimeter and use my old one (a Transolve P5) for redundancy backup. I'd appreciate any recommendations and any experiences with particular models any of you may care to contribute. Thanks.

I love that RRC2 - I had one till a motor catoed and killed it. Then I got a Perfectflite MAWD. I love it also. Either one is good, the MAWD logs, the RRC2 doesn't....really your choice.

Yea, what they said...any of those are great altimeters. If you want to spend more money, Adept and AltAcc are both good, as is Olsen and Rdas, which are near top of the line. It all depends on what you want. Decide if you need dual deploy, flight recording, live telemetry, GPS, etc... and decide from there.
