Hi all, I'm trying to understand how OpenRocket computes aerodynamic coefficients - including the static and dynamic stability derivatives. I've spent the past few weeks poring over the ORK technical documentation/thesis paper, but am still unclear on some points - e.g. whether all the moment coefficient formulas, as written in the thesis, are computed about the nosecone or CG. I've also had some trouble tallying results between the software and hand calculation - my pitch damping coefficient, for example, seems to be about 10^4 off from ORK's reported value!
ORK is getting old, but is there anyone still around who has experience with this aspect of the simulation engine?
