I just purchased a rather large amount of kevlar thread for personal use. It is size 300... about .030" It has a 110lb test rating and is bonded so it doesn't fray.

Just out of curiosity, is Kevlar something that can be bought at a hobby shop or is it a home depot item?

To put this into perspective, folks, you can buy stuff like this online from McMaster-Carr (in massive quantities, of course) for a very similar price, but the shipping deal isn't as good. If you go to a rocketry store/webstore, you can find it for 5-10 times the price.
