Go to User Control Panel

Click Edit Your Details

Scroll down to Optional Information

Type your new words in the space provided under "Custom User Title"

Well, that explains why I couldn't find it. I don't have a "Custom User Title" in the Optional Info section.

The only two choices I have in that field are Home page URL and instant messaging.

In that case, you need more help than I have.

You'll need an Admin or Owner... I think.

What did you want it to say, Lisa? I'll give it a try.

Something along the lines of "Most excellent of moderators" I'm thinking... :)

HA, Ha, ha...very funny. In my case, Supper Moderator is much more fitting than Super Moderator.

Red Wagon Rocketeer, if you would please.

OK, there's an admin pull-down that controls whether the user may have a custom title. I went ahead and set it so that you should be able to set your own plain-text titles in the future. I went ahead and fixed your little red wagon for you. :)

Thank you kindly, sir. :)

In the event that I ever grow up and want to change that, should I be able to see it now in the Optional Information section of my user CP? It's not there--it still just shows the two options I mentioned above.

I'm thinking there's a secret handshake I don't know about.

Right, per PearTree's post, you should now see a "custom user title" in the "edit your details" page under the "user cp" pages...

It's not there.

Under Required registration info it has the button for email/password, plus asks date of birth.

Under Optional Info the only choices are homepage URL and IM.

Under Additional it lists the 4 bio questions.

I'm a member at another forum that uses vbulletin so I checked for comparison and there my optional info section lists custom user title, dob, homepage URL, and IM.

I can set mine from UserCP > Edit Your Details from he menu on the left side of the window. In the second pane - optional information the first item is Custom User Title with a place to enter text.

It's the Custom User Title option that's missing in that pane.

I'm good on the avator title now, Will, thanks. Unless you'd like to shave a few years off my birthday info.
