3D Printing Acetone Smoothing

I have done it, years ago. Got a slo-cooker pot here somewhere that I used, and a gallon of acetone. Good for some things. Problem is, if you do it long enough to really remove layer lines, it also rounds off details and corners that you want to stay sharp. Maybe you could do some sort of masking - I never went that far.
 
I tried THF smoothing of PLA.
Vapors didn’t do much. It kinda worked to wet sand with.
Acetone/ABS is supposed to be better.
