I thought I read somewhere that Estes was reintroducing these A class booster motors? Anyone hear anything more about this? The collection of A10-0T's I have like to go BOOM, and running low on A8-0's :p

I too am waiting on pins and needles for these!!!

I think one of our local vendor has those (https://www.launchpad2000.com).
I've ordered hard to find engines (at least, those hard to find at Wal - Mart,
Hobby Lobby and other retailers) from them and have received superb, super
fast service. Just check them out.

Ok, just flipped through their engine section and see they don't have the A8-0yet, but they do have the A10-0T (and have had them for some time).

Are you sure those A10-0's aren't leftovers from the last production run? One of our LHS had them in stock until about 6 months ago - they were the old ones, but I wasn't being picky. I think I scrounged up the last ones they had.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I scored some about 9 months ago but they were old production.

I asked Barry Tunick about the A8-0 and A10-0T re-issue and he said it is still being planned. He did not give a timeframe. Originally, they were supposed to be out this summer, but the release of the Classics Series has been pushed back 3-6 months because of the new lead testing law, so I wouldn't be surprised to see the motors pushed back to fall or even winter, if not spring 2010.

If you were anywhere near Nebraska, I could help you out.

I have 10+ packs of A10-0Ts.

it is simple to fiure out when a new (or re-introduced) motor will be available:

Check it's certification status on the NAR website. They can;t sell them until they are certified. And often they are certified many, many months before the certification is listed and the manufacturer has the NAR hold the certification announcement until they are ready to ship. The NAR also withholds the Contest Certification until they are really shipping and readily available.

Not any more. From the S & T Testing Manual:

7.3 Publication of Certification Data and Status
Summary data gathered from tests that lead to NAR certification of a motor, and an official notification of
the certification of the motor including the date of effectiveness of that certification, will be published to the
NAR membership in a format useful to NAR members and public safety officials within 30 days of
successful completion of testing, without regard to the commercial availability of the motor. This
publication will include posting to the NAR website. Where any motor is decertified for any reason,
notification to the manufacturer and to NAR members shall be issued within 7 days of the decision.

Delaying announcement of certification more than 30 days requires approval from the NAR President or the Board. I can't remember which.

You'd have to be in the Omaha area, or know a friend who is, but I have 8 or 10 packs of A10-0s that I'd be willing to part with.

Man! A new four-pack of A10-0's. :)

How much are we willing to pay for 'em? :y:

Just bought one of these neat little things:

https://www.semroc.com/Store/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=1973

which is intended to be used on their Centurion retro repro (among others) with the A10-0. Still waiting for the A10-0 though.

And I really wish they'd re-introduce the B14-0!

I dream about B14-7's

I also dream of little blues faries dancing in the snow in front of my house. I tell them to put on a coat before they catch a cold:rolleyes:
