Came across this story and even though the Gofundme campaign has closed, I thought it was worth sharing.
Besides the story itself, I think it indicates how we have become so overwhelmed with the “If it bleeds, it leads” daily news reporting style. People are yearning for a stories involving acts of selfless heartfelt kindness and caring, and then respond accordingly when they learn of them.

Happy Thanksgiving

John

I just checked, the GoFundME is open. It now stands at $233,134.

Great story, thanks for sharing. America desperately needs to honor our vets. All of them.
