There are videos of flaming rockets on YouTube.

They don't go very high though ;)

    Hmm . . . Okay.

    (1) Rockets on fire = Bad

    (2) Rockets intentionally on fire = Safety Code violation

    (3) Rockets intentionally on fire at a NAR-Sanctioned launch = Bye-bye NAR Membership

Does that sound about right ?

Did you see the rest of his post where he recommended a string of electrical lights trailing the rocket? Because it seems like you missed that part.

Yes, I saw it and I chose to ignore it because, just as I did, the NAR would "condemn" an intentionally-incendiary rocket.

Steve Shannon, the President of Tripoli also "condemned" it . . . ( QUOTE : "What you want to do comes under the category of fireworks, not model, high power, or amateur rocketry.")

So, without any "glow-stick", "electrical lights", or "glow in the dark paint" nonsense, I agree that it is dangerous and illegal, within the Rocketry Hobby, and should not be encouraged, in any form.

This sounds like a benign version of the Dragon rockets at lucerne dry lake in the early '80s but those spewed gasoline...it didn't work well. (Not my stuff just an observation...the rockets themselves worked fine and were not damaged at all. Just no sustained flames, no explosions, no fire after landing, dirt don't burn anyway...lol)

A night version of a tape worm would be cool.

Basic mindsiming has begun on a dragon rocket with a tractor motor head and a trailing tail of pyrotechnics for a pyro buddy. But these notions are not ssuitable for discussion amongst the decent and upstanding folks here. Such things can only take place at secret locations deep within the former Soviet Union :)

This is simply demented. I think y'all guys got trolled and bit hard on the bait.

    No, just NO.

No flames, no fire, nothing flammable. Just use LED lights and/or a mylar streamer.

I can't believe I actually wasted time reading this silly thread.

    Insane in the membrane..

Apparently on browsers without adblocking, there's a banner of "other related content" that cycles through forum posts and new (sometimes old) members jump right into the convo again. My favorite is when they directly answer the question of an OP that hasn't been around since 2012.
