What is a good size 98mm motor L limit for a 30 to 35 lb all fyberglass 6 inch diameter rocket . I am cert 2 so L motors are my limit it needs a good umph to get off the pad and I would like it to be a redline propellant

Thanks

Bobby

If you're limiting yourself to 98mm, as Tony says, the only option is the L1300. Now, if you get yourself a Aeropack 75-98mm adapter, there are 75mm motors you can use like the L1420R and the L1150R. Might be able to use the CTI L995R. That's just reds. If you add blues, there are a lot more. For instance:

Not sure I understand what you mean by the "L1300 is the only option in 98mm"? There are a number of good Aerotech L motors in the 98mm case range. The L2500 is an awesome 98mm motor, especially in that weight class. I launched my Darkstar Ultimate last month on an L2500 and that is a 40 pound rocket. Flew beautifully.

He specifically mentioned Red L's.

Yeah, love those blues and the Super Thunders are just plain awesome. They are a pain to start, but the greens are super cool. Like you said, in the 75mm range, there are a lot of options. Love the L2200G. Flew that in my 8" Pike a few months ago. Lifted that 90 lbs rocket with ease on a super cool green flame.

The way my cash flow is I will have to stick with the 54/2800 and a L1090w for the 6 inch black Brant 2 😕

Blues are the easiest of all motors in production to light. How can you say otherwise?
Good gawd Jim, READ what he posted:

"Yeah, love those blues and the Super Thunders are just plain awesome. They are a pain to start, but the greens are super cool."

He is not saying blue is hard to light he is saying green is... :wavingsanta:

Yeah, bit of a misplaced modifier going on there. Good thing I don't make a living as a writer!
