I have never flown anything that large with just a single altimeter to get the parachute out.

I am very proud of you. But a midpower or even a model rocket can do damage when drilling in.

I could have had 8 altimeters and it wouldn't have mattered. If you forget to turn them on, you will crash.

Just curious, so you are saying you don't have a backup on your motor deploy rockets?

I'd say you need a more powerful motor for higher rail velocity. That flight angled off the pad pretty severely.

It says on the clip - a J430 which is a white thunder.

Seemed to angle when it was well clear of the rail. Winds aloft maybe? A 54mm 2G white thunder packs a punch.

Did you loop the cord through the cone at first, and then cut the nosecone and glue in the bulkhead when you were repairing it? Or did you have the bulkhead in the cone all along?

Looped it first. Then hooked to bulkhead after the repair

I had to add the bulkhead as the bottom of the nosecone needed to be removed.

I imagine that cone got banged up. That was a hard hit. Im about to start building mine. Real nice kit! Not sure about the wood/cardboard motor adapter from 75 to 54mm. Might just grab the aeropack.

Mine works just fine. The aeropack would be a great way to go though.
