6 volt batteries?

would 2 6 volt batteries make a 12? they were on sale at a store for a buck fiddy each, so im thinking of picking a few up and using them in a launcher for 2 and 3 clusters but i dont know if they'll work... there those lantern batteries

Yes, If you put two 6V batteries in series you get 12v. Keep in mind if they are not the same battery, your current is limited to the lesser of the two.

Parallel gives you 6v and the sum of the current capability.

I was just thinking that with all of the newsgroups and forums I've followed, that I was finally going to get to contribute something.
I'm an aerospace engineering drop-out, sorry I slipped my reply in before you.
