6 days to Udvar Hazy opening

...one small downside: $12 a day to park! Looks like I'm going for the $50 annual pass so I can spend my lunch hours there.

Is there a Metro stop anywhere close? I would be willing to walk a mile or so rather than drive-n-park.

Unfortunately, no metro stops nearby. However, they do have a $7 shuttle bus that runs from the main (and much smaller) museum on the mall to the Udvar-Hazy center at Dulles. Don't know if you'll be able to walk up from any alternate transportation (e.g., taxi, bus). I'll probably head over there when it opens next week and will know better then about the transportation and parking situation.
