48” Elliptical Parachute Build

Decided what better way to test out a parachute by testing it in Hurricane Ian force winds! After a couples hours I assembled up this build and tested out the chute to see if it can withstand 35-50mph gusts. Seems like it did a very good job!

Just created a 36” elliptical parachute from scratch today as well. These bad boys are fun to make!

My team and I are trying to make elliptical parachutes as well. I was wondering if you had any suggestions on how to build them and calculate Cd? Any tips you have I would really appreciate! Thank you.
