If you are interested I can add all rockets on a website for free. I can attach your paypal account to the site so you get paid quickly and directly. I am willing to take a commission on each sale. Shipping would be very easy as all items could be organized by brand type etc. I could set them up in my garage.
What do you think?
Thank You
Brian

"Crickets" . . .

It showed up on Ebay recently, with the lot broken up... Bulk kits as one lot, or something like that. I think he is trying to go the ebay route since no one here has expressed interest.

The same people who would buy them there, especially in on huge lot, are basically the same people on this forum . . .

They will need to be able to be purchased individually, if they are going to sell, any time soon.

I think its a nice collection. I like the SR-71 its pretty cool. I just think that they can sell as bulk no problem, but it will take some time. You just have to find the right buyer. Some of the kits bring back memories. I can remember buying the Der Red Max for about $4 at the hobby shop. That was a tone of money for kid...fun hobby!

He split them up between two auctions. Note that the auctions listed do NOT include the collectible rockets, which if included, drive the price up to 9990. Have to really read the description to know what you're getting. Some of the HPR kits might help you make your cash back... If I had the dinero, I'd buy 'em, reprice them and offer them to the members on TRF but alas not the case. Plus they're way out in CA... that'd be quite a haul to bring 'em back home.

"Collectible" is a very subjective concept.
I buy rocket kits to build and fly them. Motors' budget exceeds cost of kits by a large margin.
If one is "collecting" them, then it's just a bunch of tubes in a plastic bag. Not to say that those tubes in a bag can't increase in value, if someone comes around and is willing to pay more for that bag in the future. But, for me, that's taking a U-turn in this hobby from building and flying rockets to antique store inventory management. Totally different balls of fun.

I will refrain from commenting on the pricing, as per TRF rules, but I don't see a positive ROI on the above proposed transaction.

One could, however, corner the market in the Photon Probes (80) and Fletchers (80). A good portion of those will likely stay with you until the time of your estate sale.

LOL, fair. I overlooked the qty of those.

Smart move here would be to sell at a reasonable lower price - probably around $2500 for everything - to someone who is willing to part each piece out. Otherwise OP is going to be waiting a long time

I have been in rocketry for many years and a BAR for 20 years.
My Tripoli number is 7582 - issued in 1999 and I’m current with both NAR and Tripoli.
I have been on the board of local rocket clubs and have taught over 2000 kids to build and launch rockets over the years, and have developed curriculums for preschool (paint focused) to high school.
I may sell them individually but I don’t want to right now.
Yes, the time to do it is a factor.
Selling them bulk has occupied about 5 hours over the last two months.
Selling 400 individually could easily take 400 hours (10 weeks at 40 hrs per week) plus cost for more packing material etc.
if you don’t want them, no problem, but please don’t ostracize me just because I want to sell them bulk.

I would be interested in All the ones under the collectable tab.

I'd just like to point out that this post has been here nearly a year and nothing has been sold. If OP had sold these kits individually or in smaller groups they would all be sold be now. No one is going to buy the whole lot.

Eventually, he will have to break them up, or be stuck with them . . . Or drastically lower the price.
