51's been boring lately. Time to liven things up a bit here, for all of us die hards that poke our noses in...now & then.
Can't make MWP this year, stuck in Savannah cleaning up after Hurricane Mathew.
City announced they won'y get to all the downed trees debris [in piles now] littering the city, till April.
I have a large one up-rooted in back yard over the power lines.

Puuuhhhh......... CJ's... the new...new math.

Solution involves 1+2+3+4 =4 or 1+2+3+3=4
Yes there REALLY are 2 correct answers. :y: and they're both the same....or different, but results same.

1 6(x+l)=98

2 6>.... <7(x)- (l)<76

3 (x- ????)=y {where if x is 38} {2nd answer}
_______
38+16 {if above x=38...then 16+ (-14)+(-2)} {2nd answer}

4 = (x+2)(-2 -y)
____
(98-75)= x.... (x+23) = :(

...............................1+2+3?+4?= :)

Hint: there are 2 correct answers! Stew on that awhile.

Most likely, the answer, will come very easier, after an alcohol induced vapor cloud is entered first. Don't linger long before exit, & solution will seem effortless.

If attempting solution un-aided by atmospheric differentials.... it is advisable you take a refresher course in Jethro's Bodine's school of Ciphering. example....1+2=12

I will add appropriate hints as needed, for non graduates of JB's school .

And this is rocket related!
Finally in the words of M.A.S.H.

"That is all"

We definitely had the "new math" when I was in school, but thank God I don't remember it. Still, it was better than "common core."

I am probably mis-reading the equations...but I look at those and get 10 and 9...

FORGET new math.....

Think Cj new, new math....this is ROCKET related. You guys are gonna kick yourselves for not figuring it out, ya just gotta think like I do

Here's some hints........ and we'll simplify by removing possible 2nd answer for now....

1st ....... 6(x+l)=98

2nd ....... 6> <7(x)- (l)<76

3rd....... (x-0)=y
................. _______
.................... 38+16

4th........... = (x+2)(-2 -y)
........................____
.................(98-75)= x.... (x+23) =

...............................1+2+3?+4?= DSCN0014.jpg [somewhere inbetween]

If you could write out the equations with standard symbols....
Those ......... s and ???????? s are stressing me out.
I can't look at the problem without feeling lightheaded.

The ??? belong, well OK, I'll replace them with 0, the ...... are just to move equations over from numbers 1-2-3-4 [different steps to solution] be careful, the 1 has turned into 1st, etc.
I space them correctly, but when the forum posts, moves everything tight together. It all leads to a "high" solution.

Besides, this is Cj & Jethro Bodine's ciphering .

WHHAAAAAAT?????

When you try to solve random equations on TRF rather than do your math homework...

Nope.

I prefer LSD

Liverwurst+ Salami+Dill Pickle = LSD another great equation.

There really is an answer to above, just think outside the box.

You forgot to add peppercorn, relish, hot sauce, lemon concentrate, hydrochloric acid, methanol, ethanol, baking soda, sonotube dust, Elmer's CWF Max, wood glue, acetone, toilet paper, JB Weld, dryer lint, vinegar, dead batteries, spray paint, fresh-off-the-flying-field manure, abestos, gasoline, scalpel blades, pond scum, broken glass, light bulbs (CFLs work great), socks, soap, benzene, old shoes, baby wipes, rubber gloves, pencils, glue stick, radioactive waste, PCBs, rusty nails, and a sprinkling of burnt APCP...

1st = something about a 98 (mm)
2nd Leave out for now (so not 76 (mm)
3rd ..add the numbers gives 54 (mm)
4th 23+23 = 46

Your photos looks like a 54mm tube. The thing inside looks smaller. Maybe the thing inside is 46mm?

Tony,Tony Tony!

you're da man for getting this on the right track.

Looking back I did make an error:

(98-75)= x.... (x+23)

should be (98-75)=x.........(x+15]

here's the other end. DSCN0013.jpg

See I told you guys, THINK rocket. He's getting really close.

What does that sim to?!?!

Greg
To 'da moon Alice.

I don't suppose you considered Loki M-to-K for the top two stages....

Why yes we have, as a matter of fact.
That would be this version... which was answer 2. See the even bigger smile?
The top 2 stages 38-38 sim to mid 40's if launched from ground.

not M-K but K -K already loaded with Loki. There are 5 more 2-stages to fly next year. All close to being finished.
Total 7 staged test vehicles, all leading up to our big one eventually:

CJ, the rocket puts a very big smile on my face.

I think Jethro and your ciphering is, how shall I put it, unique.

So, I hope that first stage motor is a whopper- much thrust. Very long rail.
