Our section (NAR 203, Richmond) is sort of doing a themed launch: bring your Apollo project-related rockets. We'll see what we get, as we're a small group right now.

if you are anywhere near San Francisco Bay, the USS Hornet is having a week-long fest - check out the museum and
schedule

USS Hornet was the recovery carrier for Apollo 11 and Apollo 12.

the Hornet is a really neat museum. we spent the night onboard with a YMCA youth group. I am convinced the Hornet is really haunted!!

but the moon landing...
THAT was cool!

i watched the landing at my friend TJ Slater's place. he had a color TV :)

oh yeah, definitely need a color tv to see a white suited astronaut on black & white moon rocks filmed with a black & white camera :) the only reason people bought color tvs back then was to watch star trek.

hey Elapid, can you make it to LUNAR launch on Saturday?

WOW!!! Color TV!!!

My father said that color TV was only a passing fad and that no one in his right mind would spend all that money on a color set just to watch the few shows that were broadcast in color.
