Great series of shots on the Deuce launch :) As for attaching more than one pix, you can't. One at a time...

What I will often do is provide multiple links to pix that I have online. Most prefer that you *don't* embed the picture in your post as this really slows things down for those with dialup connections.

I hope to have my pix up tomorrow. pages are nearly complete :)

I got back some film pictures today. Plenty of *fun* pics in there of several of us enjoying each other's company and rockets.

This is one of my personal favorites. For those of you that got to check out this new STL Rocketry parachute at Whitakers, our very own Edwardw designed and sent it to me to beta test. Now those of you that saw the paint job on my upscale DRM would probably call me crazy for testing this chute for the first time in this rocket, but after a few test runs in the parking lot and much close inspection, I had no doubt in my mind it'd work fine. It did better than fine - it worked GREAT! Check out my MAXI-Der Red Max under this new STL "T-cup" chute.

Eugene,

I am *honored* to have you fly the T-Cup with that *AWESOME* DRM. I'm glad that it was a match for the DRM and got it back to terra firma safely. Again - thanks so much for debuting the T-Cup.

Many great flights ahead.

The T-Cup was a very nice chute. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't that the one that would "pulsate" like a jellyfish?

I am *real* close to getting the TRF 2004 Whitakers Gathering photo album up on line.

Because of the size of the photo album, I separated the TdD album from the rest, but have links to each from the other.

I hope to have it online tomorrow sometime.

The white rocket and red fins that got cut off in the picture with the big yellowish flame is my MegaBlast on a J500 SuperTiger. The next picture is the MegaBlast coming down.

The last picture on the first page, Red and Black G-Force named Yulya. She is flown with a H165 Redline motor.

Just another note on the Freedom Forge Missile, this kit will be coming out in the next couple of weeks (just as soon as I get my disk back...). Also, this was the Design of the Year winner for 2003 by Darren Humphries.

Kyle's Caution! Rocket Launch In Progress is one of the free download kits from the FlisKits web site.

441: Jim Flis' FlisKits Pheord X150 redneck flying saucer on a C6-0

480: Jason Toft's (I beleive - Jason??) FlisKits Richter Recker on 3 E9 motors.

great photo report by the way :)

Also, picture DSC00462, number 34, is of my Super Big Bertha coming down under a STL Rocketry chute.

EXCELLENT pix, BTW - great job!

I've got the following pictures if they sound like your rockets and you would like copies email me..

About a 2" diameter bullpup on the pad and coming up to pressure, lots oh smoke

Large 4" or better white cone, blue body with one white stripe, white fin can, good liftoff pics what looks like white lightening smoke and lots of flame

Coming off of pad 5 looks like about a 4" rocket white upper half and yellow lower half appears to be black jack or other black smoke motor...good liftoff shots

Coming off of pad 1, a beautiful blue upper and white lower binder excel... good pad pics and liftoff pics

Coming off of pad 1, looks kind of slender, white cone, appears to be faded into grey body with white fin can, maybe a boat tail, appears to be white lightening propellant, good pad and liftoff pics

Some big yellow and black rocket with a ton of black smoke.. anyone recognize this one?? heh i'll attach it

Other than that i think i have owners for most of my pics.. we've got more pics up on my site under the launches page go to whitakers launch.. and i'm getting ready to upload videos now...

After looking at Dmorey's pics the picture of the large blue rocket white nose, white stripe, white fin can.. (the whites might be light grey) looks like David Cox's magnum if someone wants to let him know..

Did he fly it on a white lightening also..??

Jim,

Bout 3/4's of the way down you list "without question the prettiest picture i took all weekend."

That's my second level 2 attempt which was successful on a combination of my Thor and Horizon.

The first attempt damaged the thor's booster when the main didn't deploy. So i used a 4" Horizon booster with the upper section of my Thor for dual deployment...

Have more pics of that rocket on the ground beforehand a similar lift off pics on my website under the lanches page

The Bullpup in Day 2 is Mark Brown's although I'm not certain of the motor. The Bullpup in Day 1 is correctly identified as being mine. It flew on a G64 RMS motor.

Day 1

Doug Gardei shows off his scratchbuilt using a FlisKits 5 motor cluster engine mount kit.
Might want to mention that this design is called the Titan ;)
Doug Gardei with Eugenio Cebollero and his dad mug for the camera.
The rocket we are posing next to is my MEGABLAST. It is loaded with an AMW J500 Super Tiger motor.
Jason Toft's Super Big Bertha off on a perfect flight...
Jason’s rocket is flying on an E18-7W.
Another beautiful high power flight (help! need names...)
That is an Animal Motor works L700 Blue Baboon Motor!
Meanwhile, back at Aunt Effie's farm, Doug Gardei preps his high power monster with a cluster (Doug, help me with details!)
Actually, the Magnum did not fly with a cluster on Saturday. In the next photo, you can see the outboards are empty ;). In the photo, I am loading the igniter into an AMW J400 Red Rhino motor.

Day 2

Doug and a new friend bring Doug's Richter Recker in for safety check. Doug also has his "Crystal" (i beleive) rocket made with a FlisKits dual cluster engine mount kit with the motors twisted at opposing angles
Close :). It is actually called the Cristal :). It is loaded with dual B4-4 motors :). I like B4-4 motors.
Doug's high power rocket closed the day off well (Doug, what is the rockets name again, and motor combination!?)
This is also my Magnum. Here she takes off with an Animal Motor Works J500 motor. Two H128 were then ignited 1.5 seconds after take off.

Firemanup, how is Meesha’s ACME Spitfire coming along? :)

The purple DW and CRLIP are mine. My son's name is Ben. Would it be possible to send me the hi-res of at least the launch pic (I didn't get one) of my DW?

Finally, my Report...spent this week cleaning dust from building, updating our Tripoli Mid Ohio website, shopping for stuff and finally unpacking last nite.

Guys, I gotta say you all had some fantastic reports!!! I believe it was probably the best launch I have ever attended, period! It beat my local launches, event launches and others...even my L3 came in second on this one and it was all due to the people...boy were there the people!!!

I brought 6 rockets...two for display, four to launch. Poor planning on my part kept the Cluster Bomb from launching, but it is going up locally on May 15th, so I will be sure to take pics. The PML Amraam2 was low priority, hence it never made it to the pads. Thanks to a great assist from Phil the Gerringer, the big Deuce was prepped and launched Saturday. I got a great photo of it that captured the moment. I also forgot to mention I brought the A10 Warthog electric Ducted Fan, which I let Kent Parker fly...he has got it bad now and Ken gave me the evil eye!!! :D

My big launch though was the Upscale Tres. I took my time on the prep and spent most of the day getting it ready. You saw the pics and other reports, so nuf said. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for documenting with great photos and video!!! Needless to say, it went very well and I was a happy boy.

Nuf about that...now for the juicy bits. Never in all my hobbies, which are indeed many, have I seen such comeradary and friendship in one gathering. Everyone on TRF seemed like you had known them for years and it was great to finally put a face with a name and a name with a handle. I now know why TRF has done so well...it's you, the people. Moreover, we are people that actually like to launch rockets and have fun, and have fun we did!!!

I saw more rockets go up in one day than you could ever imagine. Saturday, I spent half my time waiting in line for supplies from Performance Hobbies; Ken Allen was doing one heck of a business! This is why I had Phil prep the big Deuce, I just wasn't going to get to it. The remainder of my time was spent shooting the bull or as LCO, as I took one of the busy shifts, noon to 2pm. It was well worth it and I had a blast as LCO and got to see some very cool rockets.

Better yet, I got to push the button, which included the "Tour de' Duece" project. I got to teach Ken how to twist ignitor wires together on the Deuce, then heard em "dis'n" me in the background when the second one's flight was short lived. ;) All part of the hobby though.

I swear nearly everyone on TRF launched on my shift. It was a cool time and I remember one father-son rocket that had an Altimeter in it they would set before every launch. The must have put that bird up at least a half dozen times, man what enthusiasm! The kids, and they were everywhere, are what made rocketry for me. From the little ones to the teenagers, they are our future and if this weekend was any indicator, we are in good hands!

Cert launches were many...both TRF'ers and non, there were a ton of certs...most memorable were Chuck's for his Level 1...I got so used to his real name I forgot his TRF handle. He also had a killer camera and I hope he had a blast filming the launch. Firemanup had that "never quit, never surrender" attitude, stuck it out and got his Level 2 cert. Mrs. Firemanup was quick on his heals and followed by certing Level 1. These are just a few but you could feel the excitement, and sometimes stress, in the air. What a weekend!

It was a hoot getting to meet all the TRF'ers and we had good times over breakfast and dinners. Hotel room doors were always left open until sleep time...it was like one huge party that never stopped. The razzing and funn'in was there too, which shows ya how well we got along...just some of the best times ever with some of the best people on the planet!

Thanks again to everyone for making the launch very rememberable...I took very few pics, but here they are:

https://www.rocketryforum.com/ctulanko/album/index.php?dir=whitakers2004

I also got a video from Firemanup of the Tres from an outside angle...about 2mb each. What is cool is you can see it all, including the arc over form the booster. Great video and thanks much bro!

My 3" Public Enemy Bullpup flew on an H128W. It had a hard landing on the paved road but not too much damage. It'll fly again shortly.
