In case you guys need one, check your local Target to see if they have any External HD's on clearance. I just picked up a 320 GB drive for $19.98 before employee discount. :p

What is the catch?

They were on clearance for $55, but they decided to mark them down again. Once they did that the they sold out at my store almost instantly. I was lucky enough to be on my lunch when I say one left and I claimed it! Mine!

That price is very good, especially for an external. GlobalComputer.com has a 1.5 TB internal SATA drive for $119.99. That's $0.08 a GB.

At the 4th Target store I visited this week, this evening I did manage to find the 1 TB Western Digital external USB drive that's on sale this week for $99 plus a $10 gift card. That's $0.089 a gigabyte, since the actual capacity was indeed 1000 GB.

I'm currently copying all of the important files (music, video, pictures, rocketry stuff, etc.) to it, from my 640 GB WD external USB drive. The plan is to attach the new drive to my wife's computer and to back up the 640 GB, which is attached to my computer, to the 1 TB on a regular basis. (We have 4 PC's on our home network.)
