I've used one of these (they are on eBay for 10 bucks + shipping BTW). They are heavy (~8 oz) but work well.

Can't imagine moving fast enough to inflate a parachute any more.

How well does it fold? What size BT will it fit in? Lots of things look like deals until you start getting into the specifics.

It does not compact really well, but I've got a 42" one in a Loc Forte (3" tube) and a 54" one in a Loc Expediter (4" tube). Both are not really tight, but nor are they loose.

i weighed the 54" one since it's out getting prepped for a launch, It's 11.2 Oz.

Walmart and Amazon have them. All probably made by the same manufacturer.

The mesh to tarp attachment points are quite weak (just a few stitches) so I use a flexible glue (Homax The Welder) to reinforce them.

Otherwise they work well enough.

Well, as long as your RSO is OK with it and it saves you money, go for it.

The worst part are the BP charges in your back pockets for deployment . . . LOL !
