Hi, I'm researching recovery methods for a rocket to reach 100k ft. I'm looking into using streamer recovery vs. a drogue. I was wondering what method, streamer or drogue, would be preferred at high altitude flight. What are your experiences with high altitude (100k +) flights? What worked what didn't work?

Is possible for rocket on drogue to fall supersonic. Many chute designs will repeatedly rapidly inflate and collapse causing failure. Disc gap band chute works.
Materials such as nylon can freeze and become brittle. Kevlar works

here is a cool video...at roughly 3 min the drogue deploys..falls for almost a minute before chute inflates..by then falling at mach 1.84
not enough 'air' molecules to inflate the chute or for the transmission of sounds.
