This thread is intended to index various ~1/70th scale rocket related builds. Over the years i've built over 10 ~1/70th rockets, and have at least 6 more waiting. Most of these were kits (many OOP), and a few are scratch. Thought this build index might interest others, especially those whom already have ~1/70th Saturns built.

Saturn V
Apogee Components Saturn V Build
Built a ~1/70th Apogee Components Saturn V over 10 years ago. I deviated from instructions, overbuilding it for an H motor. Looking back, without modification the kit would probably handle most H motors just fine. Some deviations: Substituted built up cardboard centering rings with wood...

Saturn 1B
Semroc Saturn 1B Build
Built a ~1/70th Semroc Saturn 1B over 10 years ago. Some deviations from instructions: Built for a cluster of 4x24mm motors (Estes E9's). Replaced stuffer tube with larger diameter stuffer tube. Used Apogee Components capsule kit, instead of the provided Semroc Capsule kit. Motor retention...

Little Joe II
Semroc Little Joe II Build
Built a ~1/70th Semroc Little Joe II over 10 years ago. Some deviations from instructions: Used Apogee Components capsule kit, instead of the provided Semroc Capsule kit. Video doesn't show it, but (but per instructions) added weight to the capsule to get center of gravity/pressure...

Mercury Atlas
Horizon Models Mercury Atlas Build - Display Only
Built a ~1/70th scale Horizon Models Mercury Atlas plastic model. Did not convert to fly, but thought some folks here might be interested in what it looks like. I did not put near as much effort into the finish that most plastic model builders would. For example, i used 15 year old, lumpy...

Mercury Redstone
Horizon Models Mercury Redstone Build - Display Only
Built a ~1/70th scale Horizon Models Mercury Redstone plastic model. Did not convert to fly, but thought some folks here might be interested in what it looks like. I did not put near as much effort into the finish that most plastic model builders would. For example, i hand brushed 15 year old...

Little Joe (I)
Real Space Models Little Joe I Build - Display Only
Built a ~1/70th scale Real Space Models Little Joe (I) 3d printed and etched metal model. Did not convert to fly, but thought some folks here might be interested in what it looks like. I did not put near as much effort into the finish that most plastic model builders would. For example, i used...

Titan IIIE
Estes Titan IIIE Build
Unboxed a ~1/70th Estes Titan IIIE back in 2010, built in 2016, and finally launched in 2021. Bob

Falcon Heavy Prototype
Scratch Built Falcon Heavy Prototype
Scratch built a prototype of ~1/70th Falcon Heavy, with 3x29mm motor mount. Prototyped to: 1) test whether friction fit fins would work 2) verify my overall design flew successfully, given the design is a bit more complex 1) friction fit fins didn't seem like they would hold with the 29mm...

Falcon 9 Prototype
Scratch Built Falcon 9 Prototype
Scratch built a prototype of a ~1/70th Falcon 9, with 24mm motor mount. Prototyped to test whether friction fit fins would work. Test was successful. Launched on Estes E9, and friction fit fins did not let go. Did have to shim one of the fin slots with a few layers of paper to get tight fit...

Delta IV Medium
DFR Technologies Delta IV Medium Build
Unboxed a ~1/70th DFR Technologies / Carl Campbell Delta IV Medium kit back in 2010 and 2014, then finally launched in 2021. Originally built to launch as cluster, with the sides containing A or B motors and falling off while E9 main motor continued thrusting. Gave up on that idea, in favor of...
