'Twas the night before Star Wars, and all through the 'net
Not a creature was stirring, except for Aunt Beth.
The websites were calm, the servers near empty
Something momentous, all geeks it was tempting

Those geeks were in line, with tickets to see
Episode Nine, the ONLY movie.
Empty theaters echoed, with a despairing rumble
Of non-Disney stocks, as they took quite a tumble.

Concourses were crammed, with Jedi and Sith
There was even some weirdo, dressed up like a Bith
At home I was missing, this glorious night
TIE fighters, Jedi, and lightsaber fights.

When out in my street, there came such a clatter
That I fired up my webcam, to see what was the matter
At first I saw nothing, not even a blip
Then down it came screeching, a broken starship.

I ran out to see, the crew disembark
And hoped that the pilot, had put in in Park.
I shouted a greeting: "May the Force be with you!"
Then the captain sighed, and looked to his crew.

"I know you were hoping, for stormtroopers and such"
"but the truth is less shiny, and ain't polished so much."
"We may disappoint, next to 'A long time ago'"
"But even 'far, far away,' we're some Big Damn Heroes."
