The Vampire is an RTF from the early to mid 1970s. This one is a restoration of one from an original Firing Line set my father found for me at an antique shop. It was lacking the original BT decal and had faded, peeling, water-damaged original fin decals. I'm hoping it isn't inappropriate to place it here.
Based on old catalog & manual photography, and comments at the Old Rocket Forum, I cobbled together replacements via Photoshop & Hammermill glossy laser paper. The BT decal has a small modification as well: the Estes name has been changed from the plain Ariel font it used to the 1970's 'futuristic-style' font that Estes used elsewhere on the Firing Line packaging. I also restored the original, somewhat tattered recovery gear. It flew quite nicely at this past weekend's Tripoli Pittsburgh Dragon's Fire launch. Before & after photos:
