Well, I finally scored my dream rocket...

Since these things fly like doodoo on a D12, I got the parts for a 29mm conversion. I know this has been covered a few times before, but I can't seem to find quite the info I'm looking for.

1) The instruction sheet shows the motor mount recessed over 3" from the bottom of the main tube. I'm thinking an AP motor is going to fry the end of the rocket... other than having to add nose weight, is there any reason why it can't be moved towards the bottom more?

2) Does anybody have a GOOD Rocsim/OR file? The ones I've seen are really incomplete, I don't trust them, especially the CG/CP.

3) How much nose weight is generally needed for a 29mm motor? (say, an F23)

Thanks in advance!

I covered building a Centuri Saturn V on YORF https://forums.rocketshoppe.com/showthread.php?t=4983 It came with a 29mm mount to fly on EnerJet motors, and came with clear plastic fins to slip over the Saturn V fins.

Down in the thread there is some discussion about my RS model (post 56 https://forums.rocketshoppe.com/showpost.php?p=74149&postcount=56) and it said the stability margin was .95 with an F20-4 (without the slip on fins).

I flew it twice. First on 3X C6-3s then on the F20-4. First flight was beautiful (first pic)! Second flight not so good. In my hurry, I forgot the clear fins and sure enough the Saturn V turned into a skywriter! Nice liftoff though (second pic). The recessed motor did scorch the vacuform a little..
