Most of my choppers come in nose down. With a cardboard nose pyramid, gets little dings on the nose tip. Been working on one that came in nose up. A little tricky (and inefficient), as you need more dihedral to get the mass more "tailward" to get it to come in tail down.

When Twirly didn't work initially (kind of rotated, tumble, rotated, tumbled... you get the point), added a short "boom" (the green thing on the picture) with some clay in it to get the chopper to orient properly after deployment. Certainly not a record breaking flight (and not competition eligible anyway, since it is an engine spitter.) But it's an easy build, and a cute small field flyer on an A8-3.
