Best epoxy/resin for fiberglass in paper tubes

You want to laminate fiberglass around the tube? If so you will need a laminating epoxy resin. A quick setting, but good epoxy laminating resin I’d recommend is West System. The slow hardener will give you at least 25-30 minutes which should be more than enough time for a small tube. If it is a...

    Sold Mariah 54

a valid point, I’ll get some more photos later, the only mod I did was Implement an eyebolt to have better assurance the shock cord will be attached instead of using the wooden dowel as the anchor point. Also this served as the anchor point to attached smaller grain motors.

I’d never thought it’d come to this, but I am in a difficult situation that hopefully will go away soon, but for now I am selling my Mariah 54. I will be throwing in a 2g casing from Cesaroni and the mounting extensions. Here are a few more images of the beautiful design behind this bird...

    Sold S2/E glass UNI tubes

Hey there Tony, in the end it will indeed be stupid expensive even for the glass version. To put it short, the glass tube would be around the same price as a wildman’s carbon tubes and the carbon versions would be even higher than that like 25% more. Here is a picture of the two tubes. One is...

    Sold S2/E glass UNI tubes

I will eventually get one made to test out and get pictures going. However, after making some carbon tubes for Adrian A using dry UNI, I was able to get an awesome quality finish that is just easily noticeable in comparison to a filament wound tube. Not going to lie though, I can’t find a...

Hey guys, I wanted to see if anyone would be interested in a tube like this. They will be more expensive since the S-2 glass is pricey and yes they will be sanded smooth. PM if interested

Sold Thin wall 54mm and 38mm CF tubes

What diameter size? Also yes I can make them convolute. In fact I am looking to going back and doing this again since they always turned out the best. These are few examples of my rolled tubes. They were always consistent and are a lot stronger than the filament wound tubes.

Scratch Carbon Airframe with Soller Composites Sleeves

I’m experimenting on trying to get a decent result, it all depends on the quality of the shrink tubing to be able to compress enough to squeeze the excess resin. The one I tried from Dunestone applied a good amount to a prepreg layer, however it bonded to it, which I really don’t want that.

Scratch Carbon Airframe with Soller Composites Sleeves

I was curious how this would work with prepregs. I’ll have to order one and see how it turns out. I tried Dunestones shrink tubing, but it bonded to the tube. It was very similar to mylar. This shrink tubing is different material so I am eager to see how it will work out. Would finally be...

Interesting shrink tubing, how easy would you say it was to remove it from the cured tube?
