    Van Sickle Paint?

It’s been about 20years ago, but at that time it was really good paint. I was restoring a barn find ‘72 Triumph T100R Daytona. Painted the frame and other bracket bits with it. Powder coating wasn’t in the budget. Held up well. It’s a slow drying enamel so don’t put it on too thick.

Pretend for a moment I never studied thermal engineering. Plus audiophiles, and vacuum tubes.

I agree. With the tubes horizontal it might actually make them hotter unless you move air over them. Also…you should really cover up that amp with at least an expanded metal cover. Tube amps have some serious voltage in them…both ac and dc. When I’m troubleshooting with the power on I use a...

Pretend for a moment I never studied thermal engineering. Plus audiophiles, and vacuum tubes.

The tubes are hot because of how they work. They’re actual heaters built into the tubes…it’s how they conduct across the plates. So if you want to keep everything else cool in there you’ll need to shield the other stuff from the heat or get a fan to extract the heat. The tubes need to be hot...

Estes Pro Series II "Bring Back: Special Edition"

I’ve always used rubber cement to attach sandpaper to my Great Planes aluminum block. Brush it on the back of the paper…brush it on the face of the block...stick them together. Peel when done and rub off the old rubber cement then repeat. Easy peasy.

    Rocketpoxy Availability

There is a pre-thickened GFlex. https://www.amazon.com/655-8-Pre-Thickened-Part-Epoxy-Adhesive/dp/B00LWKFZJ8/ref=sr_1_3?crid=XN6DFYM1DDMQ&keywords=g+flex+655+epoxy+west+system&qid=1694261433&sprefix=West+g+flex,aps,135&sr=8-3 It’s my favorite to use, but kinda pricey.

The Art Applewhite saucers and pyramids area always great. I'd like to try the 54mm Stealth. I've built and flown the 29mm Stealth and it's a blast! Super easy to build and cheap. https://www.artapplewhite.com/free/index.html Video linked from his website...

She’s back to flight ready status. Went from 8.6 lbs fully loaded to 9.1 lbs. I put a 7ft Rocketman chute in it for the main. I’ll need to run some new simulations since it got a little porkier. Some scrapes and bruises along with a carbon fiber wrap repair, but it’s still a looker. I’ll...

    What tracker should I choose?

I use the Featherweight GPS tracker now and love it. But if you want simple with no gps/phone, I started with the Marco Polo and it worked well. It’s actually a pet/drone tracker, but works for rockets too. https://eurekaproducts.com/rc-model-tracking-and-recovery/

What did you do rocket wise today?

Better start watching for oil leaks! I've never had a BSA, but I've owned a couple of Triumphs. T100R Daytona and a '72 Trident. The Trident was a "big" bike back in the day. The Daytona had an "auto" chain luber....basically a constant oil leak onto the chain.

The airframe is back together. I still need to work on the new electronics bay. Here’s a link to my YouTube video showing how I did the repair.
