    Arcon-Hi

Thanks for giving a source for the tape. I tried the thin stuff from home depot, and it works, but not as well as I wish.

    Micromaxx motors BACK IN STOCK!

Dang it! Right between paychecks! Awfully good news, though. Your shipping is way better than Quest's, may God bless them.

Some launches in brief, after some nonsense with a bow and a slingshot.

Just a video. Featuring this rocket and a couple I have shown off before. The body, engine mount and nose cone are all Fliskits. The fins I made from a graham cracker box. I figured that a flattened box had pretty rounded edges, so I glued it flat and cut out my fins. Tumbles beautifully...

Nice try at a group, anyway. Thanks!

A couple of Launches with the family.

Too much ice on the roads, so the kids had a 2 hour late start for school, so why not put up a couple rockets?! We shot my converted Mosquito twice, the button pressed by my 5 year old girl, and the older kids launched their rockets. Nate's Buckshot went up quite well and the streamer came out...

    Igniters

I had five launches from one of the Q2 Micro igniters. I had the controller wires clothespinned to the blast plate, and the wires, clips and the igniter were stiff enough to hold up the rockets, sitting on the igniter on the propellant. I was using a 6v Estes Electron Beam controller. The...

A couple of Launches with the family.

Sent aloft my modified mosquito and my undressed Buckshot. Both flew great! Family Rocket Launch You can almost see the nose damage on the Mosquito it got landing on the street. Each time it came down, it landed nose first, twice in grass, and once on the street. But we could see it...

    Fliskits card model rocket Nebula

Nope. I forgot my camera when we were heading out.

    Fliskits card model rocket Nebula

Just a quick glance on youtube: Nebula I got it built early in the month in about two hours including dry time. Today I launched it a couple times on 1/2A3-4T Estes motors. The first flight was pretty good, going up about 200 feet (little field so this was ideal). The second flight was not...

    A yet unamed Scratch Build

Nice! I'm into the idea of scratch building, but I'm still in my initiaal dabble phase.

Who's is your favorite rocket kit manufacturer?

Right now I'm awfully fond of Fliskits. I just downloaded and built a Nebula in about an hour last night.

    School me on MMX

I use and old Electron Beam controller I had from an old Estes set. I had long ago lost the launch rod for the accompanying pad, so I simply glued the adapter I got from Fliskits to it. There are a few plans around for launch controllers and pads, if you look over at the Yahoo group.

    The dabble begins!

Well, after shooting off the Mosquito for the first time, it got lost in the nearby neighborhood, and I had to drive around a bit to find it at last sitting on a sidewalk. At this point I am moved to go ahead with my conversion and build something bigger, heavier, and rather less lofty to burn...

    The dabble begins!

So all I have done now is make one of the three engine mount kits that came in tha package from Fliskits. The laser cut pieces are really nice, Jim. It went together with elmer's wood glue extreme with no trouble at all. The plan for this mount is to convert my Mosquito, if it can be found...

Micro Rocketry Association (MRA) : www.microrocketry.com

I signed up. I'm just thinking about ordering my first kits and launch set up, or building my launcher from scratch, so this will help me to get up to speed, I hope.

    Micros for beginners?

Thanks, Jim. My son really likes the buckshot, and my girl likes the Big Honkin Rocket. I like the one with the three gliders, but, yeah I think we may start off with a doo-hickey. That or make up a repower for my Mosquito, since it seems you have a motor mount to fit, once I've used the last...

    Micros for beginners?

what I have now, left over from a very brief dabble six years ago (the stuff with my dad is about 25 years ago and nothing is left from then) is a green plastic launch pad without a rod and an inoperable Estes controller. Oh, and a Mosquito kit with broken bals that I put together as best I...

    Micros for beginners?

I have a couple very small fields nearby, but I could find more within a half hour's drive. At the end of the street is a field about 200 feet square. I got lost looking around at your blog, hcmbanjo! A lot of fun over there. I am looking to keep it on the cheap side. I was looking at...

    Micros for beginners?

As a kid, I really enjoyed rocketry. My Dad would get the kits from the local hobby store and he even had a liscense. So now I am thinking of getting back into the hobby. My initial thought is to go with the micro rockets, due to space constraints. Seeing how much less expensive they are is...
