You might be a child in the 70s if:

I loved my dot matrix printers. The first I remember was a Panasonic, don't recall the model, but you could program custom character sets. My friends and I, who were all big nerds, and very interested in spy tech and military stuff (and who wasn't during the cold war), programmed our own...

You might be a child in the 70s if:

And do you remember buying the Dallas Cowboys cheerleading poster, or at least spending more than 10 seconds looking at it in the store, knowing your mom would never let you hang that in your room? So, instead you bought the Lamborghini Countach Poster, which was still neat, but didn't quite...

You might be a child in the 70s if:

Learned to program Basic on a Commodore PET with a cassette drive. I remember having a sheet of paper taped to the desk with a handwritten index of how far to fast forward to get to the next program on the tape. I would get soooo pissed when I would run out of memory when coding my text-based...

    Gunpowder Residue

Masking tape is your friend for this. I use it to cover the lid, wingnuts, the terminals, wires, antennas, etc... I even wrap it around the first 10 to 12 inches of the kevlar harnesses. It's fantastically fire and flame resistant. When done with your flight it peels right off without leaving...

Movies You Wish You Could Forget... But...

A few more to add: Galaxy Quest - although I love rewatching often to pick up on all the subtle details. Futurama - same thing. First time through is blast, but rewatches are just as fun with all the subtle and overt science humor, episodic easter-eggs, and absolute irreverence for most social...

Are you ready for the holiday sales?

Picking up a new Jr kit and some other supplies. That new Piercer 98 kit looks fun, but it needs a 75mm mm in it. Thanks for the sale!

Coronavirus: What questions do you have?

Just saw today that 30% of all Covid cases in the US right now are kids. Too many schools/states not taking appropriate steps to protect kids going back to school. Too many people are not thinking about the children.

    So LDRS 40 is where...

Please keep in mind that some of what is being shared here is reflective of the current state and not necessarily of what will be for LDRS next year. Expect some improvements and changes to accommodate attendees for next years' event. Regarding ATVs, motorized vehicles of any kind are only...

    Wm Vindicator

Great kit and flies great too. Probably my favorite 4" rocket in my fleet - been flying it for over 5 years now (well, its a tie with my 4" Punisher - great rocket too). Crazy Jim's build thread linked above is a good help.

Boeing Starliner OFT-1 test, wrong orbit, won't dock with ISS

The Starliner software team must have used the same QC group Boeing used for the 737 MAX.

Gonna put the ‘HV’ in HV ARCAS

Happy Building! Nostalgia is a hell of a thing. The Aerotech Arcas was my first "big rocket" also.

"About Damn Time." My Level 3 Build

Good luck with your build and L3 attempt. I love my 4" Punisher. It's a real workhorse and gives you a lot of flexibility in motor choices when flown in it's original configuration.
