    Election day Launch

I wanted to get my mind off the election and the weather was 50 and sunny so I took a few up to the basball fields. What a perfect day. I took 4 birds I have never flown: Upscale Yellow Jacket Semroc SPEV Scratch built Wasp Upscale Goblin. I used B6-4 all all flights except one...

I love the looks of Der Red Max. I had a spare kit. I Love Orange. I had a spare tube that was 2.5 inches taller than stock. SO! Here his my latest . I left the RED in the decals because just love the black contrast and wanted to keep the look.

    CORRECT!

    upscale goblin

I mostly fly in a smaller field and I wanted to CHUTE it as well. I know I could use an adapter but I just went 18. the graphics are not upscaled they are a extra sheet from SEMROC. I think a C6-3 will fly great at home. Thanks for the comments.

    upscale goblin

might be the fastest build for me. 18mm mount with a 16 inch parachute. scratch build upscale goblin next to my Semroc version..

I put a 16 inch Semroc chute in it but it is all solid yellow/gold like the body. Matches pretty well. Total weight 2.5 oz I will agree with Fishhead, I will start with the B6-4 and go from there. if the conditions are right I may try the C Thanks for all the good comments.

That is what I figured as well, the thickest part of the decal went right on the line to were the yellow would start to disappear. Here it is. The decal glue hasn't been cleaned up yet. I went with the decals opposite of each other. Thanks to fishhead for all the help.

correct, it was a gift from a buddy. I am thinking about topping the intakes of the whistles with small cones as i have heard it is hard to get it to or hear the whistles. the are not glued in yet. I may replace witha cone/nozzle combo from Semroc. good eye! And that is a Phoenix bird...

Just put the black on. Ran the yellow up to 11 inches and the black decal will run that back right on the money. I know I have the lug down to far, I didn't think to scale it to 137 percent as well.

since getting back in to Rocketry there are a few kits that just pull at you. Some because of the childhood memories or some because of the look right now. then there is BOTH. For Me the Estes Yellow Jacket is a simple and elegant design. the proportions are just right and the shape of the fins...

    QCC 3221 Easy Mod.

4.3 oz but I went ahead and tried it. the first launch went almost straight up about 250/300 feet and fell within 10 yards of launch. it was a decent flight. I tried it again later in the day when the wind picked up slightly so I added a slight angle to the launch and this was not a good idea...
