LDRS coverage on the teevee got me re-involved a few years ago. Friend of mine saw a LDRS show on a cable channel. Got intrigued, snooped around on The Internets, and found out the circus was coming to Geneseo. The rest is history...

Do you need to be concerned about humidity also? I know they make those little plug in de-humidifiers that you can use inside a gun safe/cabinet.

Well, after looking at all the available "fixtures", :wink: I used the Mk. CDXII Bio-Optical Fin Alignment Device for the Patriot. Though the precision of the BOFAD is not up to current specs (new optical correction lens retrofit needed) I believe that it was adequate for this project...

My own designs (using Red Max as a base) and others off The Internets that were modified. Printed at home on an ink jet printer.

I started my 24 mm Patriot build last night. Got the MMT installed, marked the BT for the four fins and LL, sanded the fins and was going to start installing them and then just said hmm... On non-TTW type construction, on rockets who's fins trailing edge is forward of the aft end of the BT...

I was just in a Hobby Lobby that opened less than 1 mile from where I work. Not a real impressive selection. Mostly one of each item and a very limited offering of the Estes line. I would say that 2/3 of the store is devoted to just "stuff", crap, not true Hobby Store merchandise. In fact...

Thanks guys! This site is great for learning new skills and I used a lot of them for this project. Once Der Max Daddy is clear coated I'll post some Glamour Shots in the BD gallery. I probably have more time into the decals than any other portion of this project. The learning curve was...

Got the decals on. This was my first attempt at creating my own. I'm undecided on painting the nose cone 1/2 black and 1/2 white for right now. I'll let the decals set up for a week and then clear coat.
