Will o-rings be OK on HP reloads that are loaded and stored for months prior to launch?

Due to Covid-19 I have been unable to launch using a CTI L645 that I loaded into its 75mm motor casing many months ago. I'm wondering if the forward and rear closure o-rings will "relax" and take a "set" thereby offering considerably less sealing properties. O rings were greased with synthetic...

Motor reloads with the most CATOs

After so many years with no CATOs, I experienced my first one on a CTI K300-P Classic motor on the maiden flight of a new rocket on a 10,000 foot altitude attempt. If you have had a CATO, you know that horrible feeling of loss after spending so much time and money planning, building and perhaps...

Need a source for latest Rocksim motor files

Well, it happened. A hard drive crash has wiped out a lot of my files and my backup for rocksim motor files is outdated anyway so... Where can I download complete up to date files for CTI, Aerotech and Estes motors. By the way my new Samsung 1 TB SSD is so much faster than my old hard drive!

Short piece of 4" coupler needed

I need a 3 1/4" long piece of 4" coupler if anyone has a scrap piece. (I can cut to length.) On the last launch of my Gizmo XL, I managed to lose the piston from the cannon tube for the main chute. The retention loop sewn into the top of the chute tore on deployment and the piston tumbled to...

CRMRC Feb. 21st launch is scrubbed due to field conditions

The CRMRC rocket launch scheduled for either 2/21 or 2/22 has been scrubbed due to the field conditions. Neither of the access points to the field have been cleared of snow, nor has the ~1mi of off-road traveling to the launch area.

    Umbrella canopy for parachutes?

I wonder if anyone out there has used the nylon canopy from a discarded umbrella for a parachute. I have a colorful collection of umbrella canopies, mostly non Ripstop nylon. Are they too weak or the wrong shape to use for parachutes. I saw a gorgeous 7 foot diameter discarded beach umbrella...

Aero Pack lowers some prices by 15%

Just read in the Jan/Feb 2015 issue of Sport Rocketry that Aero Pack has lowered pricing on thir retainers by as much as 15% starting Jan. 1, 2015. In the article they attribute it to new tooling with dual spindles and live tooling. They give some examples of the 15% drop items like RA29L, L2...

Great service from Skyangle & AMWPro-X's Robert DeHate & Gloria Robinson

Back in 2012 I bought a Skyangle Classic II 32" drogue chute for my L3 project from Robert DeHate of AMWPro-X. That chute has flown a number of times in my larger rockets. At URRF this past June, my 32 lb Sluggo rocket decided to weathercock into the wind and suffered from an early drogue...

Anyone have a good Flight Log Template?

I'm getting tired of looking through years worth of hand written logs to find out historical info on my past launches. Does anyone have a good Flight Log Template they are willing to share? I'd like to modify it to my own needs so Excel or Word formats are best. I typically write all the info...

Now here's a restaurant I can relate to....

I was driving through Saint Sauveur Quebec, a resort town in the Laurentian Mountains 50 miles North of Montreal and found this restaurant/bar with giant polyethylene nosecones out front. They are internally lit at night. Also found a lighting store that sold them in the same town but didn't...

Vintage Centuri Powr-Pad Launch Controller- FOR SALE

I am considering selling this this nice piece from my collection of rocketry stuff from the sixties and seventies. It is in remarkably nice condition having been stored in my closet for decades. And it has the safety key which is so often missing! I recall using it only few times (like 3) when I...

    Nice Arm/Disarm switches

I bought a few very high quality APEM 6421A-03 military grade SPST lockout toggle switches which are perfect for use in launch controllers as an Arm/Disarm switch. They have screw terminals and are rated for 6.5 Amps at 30 VDC or 10 Amps at 125V AC. The flip top is made or red Bakelite with...

Anyone have photos of this Gizmo XL flying at LDRS XXI?

I launched my Gizmo XL pictured here at LDRS XXXI on Saturday July 14 2012 at 1:37 PM from pad RD 5. I did not have a chance to get to my Nikon before the button was pressed so missed getting good in-flight shots. I quickly grabbed my little Panasonic camera but got a fuzzy shot. I'd appreciate...
