    Thrust ring size

The standard external spiral rings you can get from McMaster will not fit in Aeropack retainers. While you can grind them down to fit (I've done it on some AMW cases), I have found that you can buy ones that fit directly from Smalley: 54mm Smalley WST-212-S02 Spiral 2.125" shaft, 0.078" thk...

    Loki Research 2015

J528 LW. Very nice; flame almost as big as the rocket. Like it almost as much as the I405 LW. After this flight, I went up to Teddy (Onebadhawk), and asked for a Cocktail load for the same case (38/720) to do another flight on the same rocket. Bummer, there isn't one ! (hint hint)

    Oxamide and Titanium SPONGE

That would be very cool if it makes sense.

    Wanted: Loki 38/480

Give Teddy a call, grab a new case and some I405LW reloads. You won't be sorry.

    Loki Research 2016

Flew another Loki J820-LW last weekend. What a great motor! Can't beat how easy it is to load either, heh, heh.

    Loki Research 2016

We flew some Loki loads at our METRA launch last weekend. My der Red Magg on a Loki J300 red; chuffed once but burned very nicely after. Nice long burn too. SM's L3 project, test flight on a Loki L1482 blue: BB's rocket on a Loki J820 star grain white - this motor really kicks...

    One Bad Loki.....errrr Hawk !

Too cool Teddy! All kinds of American make goodies in your truck now! Best harnesses I've ever seen protect you when you are coming back, and now the best motors to make your rockets go. I guess you got us covered coming and going now..... :cyclops:

    Strengthening Plywood Fins

Plywood is very strong, and won't break like balsa. For my Red Max, I did add a thin layer of glass to toughen the fins up though - helps with "hanger-rash" and getting smacked around in the car. A simple procedure is to lay out parchment paper on a flat smooth surface, put down some...

    Phenolic Airframe Choices

+1 for the flexible phenolic that Red Arrow sells. Great stuff(I've built 4"-7.5" rockets with it), I've beat the crud out of it multiple times - it wont shatter like PML - but its not quite as stiff. I do glass over it, but I like glassing. Still much lighter and cheaper than solid glass...

    Altimeter Switch Mount Question(s)

Yes. This is the way I like to do it. Screw switches are mounted on the edge of the board, so that they are only 1-2mm from the vent holes. That way they are very easy to arm, no searching required - holes are small enough that I don't even need to see what I am doing. A bit tough to see...

METRA July launch this weekend! July 4-5.

Rain? What rain? Flights were going up. No lines for the pads. No catos. What more could you ask for?? Will be even better today. Sun's coming out in a few minutes, honest. :D

    Redundant trackers?

Hi Nate! I use a BRB beacon tracker in nearly every big flight. While I guess it could happen, I've never had one fail to operate, so I'd think redundant is not terribly useful. They seem to be very reliable. What I like to do however, is put a GPS (900MHz) on a sled with the BRB for higher...

    Dog House Rocketry shipping delays

Bill, I just placed an order yesterday. Absolutely NO rush. When you get a chance to ship its plenty early enough for me - won't need the parts for a while anyway... Best wishes for a speedy recovery for your mom. My mom has had both knees done now. While full recovery takes a quite a...
