    Gleda M. Estes March 4, 1932 - March 30, 2024

A great lady who had a big hand in the launch and early success of Estes Industries. Proud to have known her well for many, many years.

    What is your score?

12, but in my defense, as of May 2024, I will have been flying model rockets for 58 years.

Be sure to check with your provider about any restrictions on the router. My provider (Xfinity) won't guarantee the speed I'm paying for unless I'm using one of their approved routers.

What do you do (or did) for a living?

So what is the inside story of why Estes stopped MPR?

Mable trades capital for labor and that trade makes the Estes black powder motors a remarkable bargain for us rocketeers.

Impact of exhaust residue on slide-wing movement

I have done that in the past, but I don't find it consistently produces a good turn. I've taken to putting in some rudder trip, but you have to do that VERY CAREFULLY!. I'm now 3D printing a jig that insures accurate 1.5 degree offset to the rudder and am happy with the results. YMMV.

Impact of exhaust residue on slide-wing movement

I've flown slide wing RG's since 1973 and never had an exhaust reside issue. The models make use of a spruce fuselage. I will put one or two coats of clear model airplane dope on them, and sand them down smooth before adding the slide box. I personally wouldn't worry about the residue at all.
