OpenRocket: packaged installers for Windows and Mac to solve all your Java problems

Yup! Just installed on an iMac Pro yesterday with no issues! Worked like a charm with High Sierra (10.13.6) and Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 18.3 (build 10.0.1+10). Thanks for keeping this wonderful piece of software viable! ;-)

    Remembering your childhood fleet

Wow! Great thread...really brings back memories. Just noticed that Estes has all of the old catalogs still available online: https://www.estesrockets.com/customer-service/full-catalog/ So, started around '75 with the obligatory "Deluxe Starter Kit" including an Alpha, launch pad, launch...

    Q MODELING

This is truly a shame. I had a QModeling Nike X which was one of the nicest kits I ever put together. Flew like a dream. Same sentiment about BSD...the Thor was a standard of model rocketry. I scratch built one, but never had the pleasure of building and flying "the real thing".

    Airfest XXII

AirFest?!? I haven't even planned for Kloudburst yet! Do have a new scratch build I may fly on a 2grain 98mm research motor. And hopefully my 2-Stage 2.6" Darkstar is done by then.

Convert any Wildman Jr kit to a 2 stage build [Vindicator JR]

Any updates or newly found tips-n-tricks on this endeavor? I'm finally going to start the build on my 2.6" 2-stage Darkstar I purchased 2 Black Saturdays ago :-P Ordered some brake line....have the 4500 epoxy. Need to round up a second Aeropac. Have a new RRC3 and a RRC2+. Something I didn't...

Open Rocket Sims vs The Real world?

I've always had very good correlation as well. Additional "factors" include selecting the proper finish on the rocket, accuracy of the shape of the fin leading/trailing edges (is it REALLY airfoiled, or just kinda...), and manufacturing tolerance of AP motors can also be a big factor.

Wildman Black Sat......what are you looking for/getting?

I could certainly use a couple of AT 2560 reloads at a "special price"....haven't looked closely to see if anyone is doing a special on those yet. Didn't fly much at all in 2015...home renovations and a change in job responsibilities kept me pretty close to base. Hoping for a much better 2016!

Can you open an Open Rocket (.ork) file in RockSim?

Nope, you'll have to use OR to "Save As" Rocksim (.rkt) and then move it over. OR can read .rkt, but not vice versa...

    smart phone survey

Android user here. Had iPhones before, but being a Linux guy, felt more in sync with Androids. Per John's mention of a "home phone"...that'd be an EXCELLENT follow up question. How many of us still HAVE a "land line"? I haven't had one in about 8 years personally. Often wish I were in the...

What was your First Composite Motor?

True, TB! And I certainly wouldn't recommend it as I think having a bit of experience BEFORE you cert is really important. That said, I certainly broke my own rule
