What the heck am I doing wrong? Aerotech makes a wrench for the aft end but the front end is where I need a wrench!

Loosen your closures immediately upon recovery of your rocket. Or at least ASAP. I'm talking while still warm. I'm not sure I have ever used a wrench on Aerotech closures 29mm through 75mm. I use plenty of either red grease or Super Lube on closure threads. None or minimal on liners. Under no...

    EVENT AIRFest 29, Sept. 1-4, 2023

To put this simply, we are back to the familiar wheat crop rotation. There are no crops around the 60s, 70,s and 80's pads this year. Sparkly motors will be allowed from there. No sparkies flown from the pasture - all sparkies must be flown from M distance due to fire risk. Also, recovery in...

    Anyone headed to airfest 29?

Why don't you just make your Level 2 certification attempt yourself? There will be plenty of TRA Prefects, TAPS, and Board members who can administer the L2 exam and witness your launch. BTW, there will be hundreds of flyers from around most of the U.S., particularly flyers from the Central...

    LDRS 41 Official Information thread

Get your club to host, then it will be wherever you like. Simple as that. Hosting LDRS is a crapload of work.

THE TXSO 2023: The Texas Shootout (Seymour, TX -- May 26-28, 2023)

This is true, BUT, the muddy conditions made it quite challenging out there. There were a number of vehicles having trouble accessing the launch site and trudging through sticky mud was … unpleasant. Kudos to Tripoli North Texas for making it work about as well as possible given the conditions.

    12” Mega Punisher Build Thread

Great flight. I had my DSLR out but couldn't get in position in time during countdown. It was really, really sweet!

    Interesting CATO

This is not true with 38mm CTI reloads. As I and others have alluded to, this looks very much like a CTI without casing launch, but I understand it may not be.

    Interesting CATO

I've seen a few CTI 38mm flights attempted without putting the reload in the casting. 🤔 Looks kind of like that. Motor burning. Delay burning. Whoops!

Rail tolerances and a goofup of mine

40# rocket no sweat with 1010 buttons/rail, BTW. Most clubs probably have fewer 1515 rails vs. 1010 due to cost and usage and heavier pads needed depending upon your infrastructure. If you have flyers waiting to get pad access due to shortage of rails, buy more. That's what we have done. Use...

    Does Composite Warehouse Still Exist?

Are you Curtis' brother? Or mom? Why tolerate CW horrible businesses practices when there are other good, reliable, reputable vendors and OEMs in this hobby space? There is absolutely nothing remarkable about the products, so WHY??? And why do you defend CW so ardently?

    What's up with LOC??

Let me add they really support local clubs. I love vendors who give back to the hobby.

    Withdrawn Jolly Logic Chute Release

It's funny because NO ONE is going to sell you one that is in good working order for HALF of retail. Electronics are scarce right now. If you want one, pay a fair price for it.

    EVENT AIRFest 28, Sept. 2-5, 2022

I rarely fly at AIRFest. I even less frequently get a photo. I hardly ever post photos. But here I am, standing by a rocket I flew on an L1520 to 11,919'. I flew two others during AIRFest. Weird huh? 😎
