    Hobbytown Longmont CO closing sale

For the Colorado rocketeers (and other hobbies), the Longmont location of Hobbytown is closing its doors. Last day is Dec. 27th. There is still a ton of stuff. Not a bunch of rocket stuff, but some. Lots of building materials, tools, and a whole section of (appearing very old) plastic models...

Covid-19 and a bad time to get cancer

In the midst of all this, I was just diagnosed with Mediastinal B-Cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma... lump about the size of a softball in my chest. Long (>1yr) misdiagnosed as various other things, so I'm not happy with my PCP, but whatever. In one week, I've had initial x-ray and look-see, CT...

Width of aft closure slot in Aerotech Hobbyline 24 & 29 cases?

I'm at work, so I can't dig out my cases and measure. Can someone pull out a caliper and get me the slot width for the hobbyline aft closure? I know the 18mm is different, but the 24 and 29 are the same, I believe. Don't direct me to Aerotech's drawings, as they don't have the dimension on...

    Aerotech Hobbyline 29/40-120 cases NEW

To promote rocketeers in the smaller motor regime to move up to mid-power, I'm clearing out a stash of "sealed in the bag" Aerotech 29mm Hobbyline cases. I got them a while back for a fun cluster project, but now I'd just rather save up for some larger single motors.:) I need to go count, but I...

    Another job loss... Networking anyone?

I was just reading Dave's post the other day, and now it's my turn. After 14 years with this company, including 2 cross-country relos, a layoff, contract, and rehire, they got me again. Unfortunately, since they paid me out previously, only 8 weeks payout this time., so I need to find...

38mm Dr. Rocket hardware for sale

I got a good bundle deal from someone getting out of the hobby. I'm selling off some of the duplicates to fund other projects. I'm not in a big hurry to get rid of this stuff, but figures others should be flying them, instead of them being "on display" in my shop. 38mm front closure $20...

    Yet another feline loss...

We had to put down our 17yr old Geni this last week. She'd been on meds for arthritis and asthma for many years. After we returned from a weekend away, she stopped eating, drank a ton, and started to hide out (multiple clues). The vet told us she was now diabetic and could be treated (for...

A10-PT's on clearance at Michaels $3pk

Last chance to get plugged A10's. I guess Estes is killing off the rocket cars now. These are nice for little clusters (too small for my current projects, though). Michaels in Superior, CO has about 5-6 packs left at $3 pk of 4. -Ken

    Level 1 Project status

I've been slow getting going on the project, but here are the first pics since I got the fin can together. The kit is a LOC Fantom 438 EXL with 6 extra 24mm airstarts added. The updates will be few and far between, but I'll try to keep putting up pictures. Hopefully this will be ready to fly...

    The Rocket Garden +++

Just met Bryan halfway between our workplaces for a hand-delivered order. He was one of only a few vendors who had my kit (LOC Fantom 438 EXL) in stock and the lowest price. He did a great job getting the unstocked parts quickly. All parts were accounted for and in great condition. Thanks...

    LOC Fantom fin dimensions?

I've got a LOC Fantom 438 EXL on order for my L1. I'd like to finish my Rocksim file with the correct fin dimensions rather than estimates from photos. Does anyone have one they can measure up for me? Just the root, span, and tip, as it's just a clipped delta shape. Thanks, Ken

Need some motor and retainer dimensions...

Break out your calipers! I'm trying to plan the motor spacing for a cluster setup: 38mm sustainer and 6x 24mm auxiliary.:) What I need to find is: Aeropack retainer OD of permanently attached part (external threads) and OD of retainer ring. 38mm for LOC tubing OD of rear closure on...
