Third Charm's The Try | A Minimum Diameter M Project

Hey Braden! This is really freakin' cool! Beautiful project; looks like it goes from sitting still to M2 in no time flat...in several ways! Highlight of the thread...is definitely the beveled all-thread! ;) Great stuff!!!

EVENT Tripoli Wisconsin TWA - Bong - Sunday March 10th, 2024

Thank you, Justin, for braving the cool breeze and capturing launches on Sunday! Bummed I couldn't make it, but this helps bring me closer to the action at least! Looks like a Loc IV Cert 1 fest! Hoping to make it to the next TWA Launch!!!

    LOC/Precision Force Ten L3 kit

I uh...may have hit the Snooze button for a bit! Life turned super crazy about the same time Gary revealed the rocket is actually complete and has already flown. Jeff, life got busy and I may have ignored the thread for a few months. Indeed it has flown. Time to finish this bad boy up and...

Loc Esoteric & Top Gunn: Dinosaur builds!

Peter, which one...the Esoteric? If so, the main 7.67" airframe is so long that it's easy to add an e-bay, and genuinely helps to break down the sections for transportability! Regardless of the airframe, I'm in favor! And you know what, I still have to take a photo of the Loc/Custom fleet...

    Wildman 5" Jayhawk Build Thread

I was not aware that Mr. Gibbs possessed the ability to sit and stare in awe. Folks, there is but one thing on earth that can pause that dog to sit and admire...and it is this friggin' awesome Jayhawk!!! Seriously, I had 0 desire for a Jayhawk before this build thread. Stellar work, sir...

Spitting the liner...does that affect performance?

Spitting casting tubes isn't uncommon, especially in longer motors, those with tapered cores, higher mass flux, etc. Gluing grains to their respective liner is indeed the fix and won't change the performance of the motor so long as excess glue doesn't creep out and onto the grain faces.

Wanted Scan of article on a 1/1 scale AIM-9 Sidewinder missile

It was in High Power Rocketry. Orange Cover. I believe I have the issue; I'll try to dig it out and scan it for you!

    LOC/Precision Force Ten L3 kit

Definitely YES. Interestingly enough, you just covered the only 3 carbonated beverages I consume! But it's conditional and goes like this: Sun Drop: typically enjoyed earlier in the day; IE: my replacement for coffee. Mountain Dew: typically enjoyed later in the day; IE: an afternoon kick...

    LOC/Precision Force Ten L3 kit

Some junk from Hobby Lobby!😉 I typically use pink Zap, because I'm a CA snob, but I was out, and in a pinch, this stuff performed just fine!😁

Sealing the Tubes Perhaps the most important contributor to prolonging the life of your cardboard rocket is sealing the ends of the tubes with thin CA. I've "enjoyed" enough water landings to believe there's sufficient empirical evidence that sealing the ends helps prevent lasting damage to...

    LOC/Precision Force Ten L3 kit

Booster As others have alluded to, the tail end of the Force Ten largely resembles the tail end of the Skinwalker. Always dry fit assemblies before mixing up your next batch of epoxy. It not only gives you an opportunity to get all giddy about the size and fit of your next assembly, it also...
