    Beautiful Atlas Launch!

The video on Spaceflightnow.com begins about 30 seconds earlier in the count when they ask for the range status. The guy in the Range Operations Control Center sounds like the same guy for the SpaceX launches. He always replies "the ROCC is ready". Makes me chuckle very time.

    Jet Hitch Thrusters

I'm sure these will work really well on 1990's Chevy pickups. Read the General Motors vs. NBC here.

    Jet Hitch Thrusters

Hey, I had the idea first. We needed something heavy to hold a sparky motor to measure how far the sparks traveled. My truck was available. However, it was parked.

    KENNEDY SPACE CENTER

This is my favorite KSC picture. It's from the Redstone firing room that you get to see on the Air Force tour if they still do that. I love the red arrow pointing to the firing command button.

    Electric Igniters/matches for fireworks?

If you find yourself in this situation again, try using the lead from an Estes igniter. Bend it in half, insert it like a regular ignter and put the clips as close to the nozzle as you can. If you've got a good battery it will light the motor.

Maine Missile Math & Science Club / Central MA Space Modeling Society Joint Launch!

I expect to fly a couple of hybrids. It's a lot easier walking the tank across the field in Maine than it is walking up and down the hills in Amesbury. I also expect to eat a meal and dessert at the Pig. CMASS members reading this, if you have a season pass, the club will cover your launch fee...

Science Friday Science Club - Explain the Sun

When I viewed that video on my iPad I was treated to an ad for Game of War with Kate Upton riding a galloping horse. It was enlightening.

    The cost of rocketry.

    Amortized over 30 flights, it's only $10 a flight.

Science Friday Science Club - Explain the Sun

Do you think there are people who read something called "Science Friday" who don't know what the sun does? We'd freeze and die without it. However, the disco clam was cool.

Maine Missile Math & Science Club (MMMSC) Planning Pop-up Launch for 09 or 16 May

You can never be sure about the weather until the day after the launch. However, I am predicting that the weather for the 5/30 launch will be wonderful.

    In Case You Were Wondering......

The problem had been progressively getting worse. I'm sure people leaving TRF for a new soap box didn't help.
