Anyone done their Level 2 cert with a 3" rocket?

How big is this rocket and why not fly it on a J motor if you are worried about altitude.

They did accrue a huge debt when they went through the 16 month merger. And now they are combined there operating cost will be much lower also. I have to agree with Fred on this one I'll always have a car with Sirius. The 5 most important things in my life are my daughter and family, my house...

Thanks for the replys Ive had then on my computer. But my computer went down for about a month and lost a few things along the way. Im using 1'' nylon strap with nomex cord protecters and nomex heat shields. The rocket is a PR 5'' competitor w/18'' extension on the booster. Going up this weekend...

    Ejection charge size

I seem to remember there being a formula somewhere but cant find it now. The basics 5" dia. x 24'' approx. without recovery. Fiberglass airframe so it can take a little extra. Im guessing 2 1/2 - 3 grams of 4F

    Key Switch

Ive used Aerocon in the past with very good results with both key switches. Dont use the phono plug method. The high G-force could momontarilly open the switch and reset the electronics in flight (not good).

    First HPR build

You didnt mention what type shock cord also. If its a nylon or kevlar strap use as much as possibe it compacts down easily. The nylon has a little stretch the kevlar almost none. I use kevlar only now. A trick I learned is to fold the strap like an accordian about 3'-4' wrap a layer of masking...

    Cosmodrome Aerobee Hi booster motor

Mike have you tried to put a 38mm in the booster. I would think the 38-120 would give you more room for the parachute. then you could put a G-339 in it.

    J-660 Purple Video

Cool looking motor. I would love to see one at night. What was the total impulse. I estimated it at about 1 1/4 sec. burn which is about 800-900 ns.

    CO2 Drag racers!

I had done this in jr high also. My car beat everyone in class and was to race the winner from the other 2 classes. Someone about a week later stole my car from the classroom. So we never found out who would of won between the 3 classes. That same class was where I found out about rockets 30+...

Anyone tried a Strobe or bright flasher to help locate rockets?

My bad. I think it is candelas or whatever they measure it in. The 3 watt leds I bought one RP auction site about a year ago. I believe they were about $3 each normally they run about$7-8 each. The 100 leds I found on E-bay were about $4 per 20 bulbs. The leds Wolfstar had were about $9 per 10...

Anyone tried a Strobe or bright flasher to help locate rockets?

I built a 30'' payload section for my magnum last year. It has 30 multi changing leds from Wolfstar mounted in the nose cone. 100 green leds (4000-5000 lumens each) mounted through the body tube. And 5 green 3 watt leds mounted through the body tube also. Cant miss it at night. Next one I am...
