    X-Files is back!

Saw the second episode last night. Much better than the first...probably the James Wong script. I can't wait to see if Darin Morgan did any writing, his were always the best (and funniest.)

The Movie Game: Love it, hate it or not seen it!

Never seen it, but I bet I'd dig it. Operation Crossbow (figured I'd leap in with a movie featuring rocketry)

What was the first rocket you ever launched?

The first "real" one was an Estes Saturn V semi-scale (the one with the clear plastic fins.) Probably circa 1973 or 74. Prior to that, plenty of water rockets and baking soda and vinegar creations.

    gap staging....

Here is a rather thorough treatise on gap staging. I've only built one model that used it--a Quest Navaho--but I've flown it a couple of times and got both bits back both times. Also G. Harry's book covers it well...that's how I learned about it, in fact.

Estes 1/100 Little Joe II - Finally Completed!

Very nice! I have one I've yet to build, maybe this summer...

    A. R. V. Condor build thread

I love my Condor. It's been rebuilt and refinished a couple of times and still flies well. Of all the rockets I have built and happily passed on to family and friends, the Condor isn't one of them. It's mine!

    Quest: Sale this weekend!

I didn't see this posted anywhere here yet...I got the postcard this week, and it's on their web site too. 40% off everything, and that does mean everything, including bulk pack motors and kits. What a gift to the rocketeer! Load up now!

    SOUTHERN THUNDER 2009

If you've never been...you must go! The launch field is great and the people are super! Oh. And if by chance you're on your way down for Bonnaroo...it's the very next weekend, and it's just up the road! Or down the road, depending from where you're arriving. Music one weekend, and music to...

Are you left or right handed ?

    Right-handed, right-brained. So I'm told. ;)

    Any interesting CATO stories?

Wow. I had one happen that looked just like that, except mine stuck on the rod. I've got a video of that and as soon as I find it, I'll post it. That's two Eagles gone for me. The first one glided over a highway and got run over. I think I'll try another brand next, maybe a Flat Cat... I had...

How do you close a water-proof watch?

I love my Ironman, so much I bought one for my son for Christmas. I found once I spent a little time figuring out the functions they're not all that obscure, and I use mine at the racetrack to time splits when I need three watches instead of just two. And yes, I change my own batteries. Our...

What have you been building while the site was down?

In December I finished off my Estes Nemesis and built a Quest Aurora. Both have since flown...the Aurora is really great and glides beautifully. It may be one of my "must-takes" whenever I fly. On the other hand, I have also finally refitted my ARV Condor, so that would be two bg's I really...

    Egglofter maintenance

The Quest Courier is a nice kit, easy to build, cheap, and it's got a solid egg carrier that does the job. We bought two so my son and I could compete against each other. As for the egg, I wrap it in cling wrap. It doesn't necessarily keep it from breaking, but it does prevent a mess. We...

Does your club fly from a sod farm ?

Lucky you...bet there's some hard landings though... By the way, that's Al Unser in the Vel's Parnelli Jones Champ Dirt Car, circa 1970, back when Indy Cars meant running on paved ovals, road courses, dirt ovals, and Pikes Peak!

Holy frijole! What happen, only one motor light?

    Estes 1827 Ready-To-Fly Starter Set

Very nice, and thanks for the vids...I have yet to fly this year for the bad weather, so it's nice to see someone out doing it on the other side of the Earth! Keep 'em coming! I have kept busy myself building, got a Starchaser Thunderstar and a D-Region Tomahawk built and waiting a good day...
