    Just 1 altimeter?

I think it all comes down to 'how safe' do you want to be? I'm sure I'm considered a noobie(8, maybe 10 DD's under my belt) but I always err on the side of saftey. Just think it's the wise thing to do. Gary L1 Sears572

Are there Special Tools/Accessories to help build with arthritis

James, I'll bet there's alot of us in the same boat. I haven't been to a launch in at least 2 years. Degenerating disks and worn out knees slowed me down 10 years ago. Then arthitus in my right hand took the fun out of building. Now I can't prep an engine because of my tremors. It's too...

    Vacation planning in Pensacola/Mobile

I second what SMR said: Eglin is a great place. I10 east to Crestview, Fl(85) then south to Eglin. If you like scale scratch builds, take a tape measure and a BIG note book. Or how about some gulf fishing? It's beautifull out there! It's a shame...I've lived here 40 years and can't find the...

    Payload ideas

The club "SEARS572' took a hint from the 'high power guys'. They're flying bowling balls, but we have more mid power flyers and wanted something to interest more people. We're flying billiard balls on E impulse motors once a year. Now, we can fly them anytime but, I think, next Saturday is 'the'...

    Question about 2 stages

You might also take with you a printout from Rocksim, VCP, Open Rocket, etc. prooving where the center of pressure is, with the motor sticking out the back, and mark it on your rocket. If I were RSO'ing, I would feel more comfortable knowing that YOU know where it is, rather than relying on 'my...

What else do I need? First HPR

The Ariel was my choice for L1 years ago. Still have it, still flies. I think I used an H128. It got it going quick, and not too high. An easy cert flight. I had a friend watch me build the motor and prep the rocket. He saw things I didn't. Experience is your friend. Use it! A note on the...

Solar Sailer II upscale 2" dia

I picked this project to utilize a 28", 38mm Contrail hybrid case I've had for a couple years and never used. Tall and slender, it seemed the perfect vehicle. My original Estes Solar Sailer bit the dust many years ago. The wife gave me a Hawks Hobbies upscale version along with their Sprite...

    Outlander Build

C6-3 will barely get it up. D is the way to go. I modified mine for 24mm. D12's were great. The nozzle had to be enlarged and was paper thin when I finished it. But it worked. Or the 18mm reloadable D's would work fine and you could save some work. It explodes off the pad with a D21.:jaw...

    The Landlord Said I could...

Every reply has been pro pet. May I give you the con side? You are about to tie an anchor around your waist. A ball and chain, if you will. lol You won't be able to go away for a weekend. Not even overnight without providing for your pet. Now I don't hate animals. I love animals. But when...

    Cut yer hair-Cut the SLICK!

20 years ago I could have made a difference but now, shaving my head wouldn't produce more than a teaspoon full of hair. lol Have they closed P'cola pass yet? oil was a mile off Navarre beach yesterday. tar balls seem to roll in much sooner. And they don't talk about the subsurface oil, or...

    Just for grins...

Sounds nice. You own a spresd that large? How about a spiderweb of buried conduit with installed cables so pads could be set up anywhere 360 degrees around the central core? Water and sewer service? How much money do you have, anyway? LOL Gary

    Anyone lose a target drone?

While at eglin's field 9, Hurlburt Fld, (bomb dump) in the early 70's, I remember watching the last of the bomarks launched from santa rosa island to be chased by Tydall's fighters. They got some, but missed most. There must be be a lot of ordinance on the gulf floor. Gary(showing my age)
