Where can I find date codes for known problem motors?

I blew up an E9 a while back, curious to see if the rest of the ones I bought at the same time might be similarly spicy. Couldn't find anything at NAR S&T. A little help, please?

Slightly interesting difference in mid 70 Estes motor vs modern

This is probably the answer. Or maybe like Art said, could be something in the clay. Both of those make more sense than my original iron oxide idea.

Slightly interesting difference in mid 70 Estes motor vs modern

Recently flew my trusty Jet Freak glider on some old Estes 1/2 A6-2 motors and noticed that the nozzle area has a distinct orangey residue. I am posting pics of the older motor vs a modern one. Was Estes running iron oxide or something like that as a catalyst back then? I always assumed their...

Old tractors, new tractors: Flying Pitchfork, Cluster F, TetraJet

That is sick. I've done rack rockets but not parallel. I approve.

Upscale Galaxy Guppy by Bad Boy Rocketry

Looks great, you did a good job. I think a C11-3 would be great in this kit for “park flying”.

    Wanted Ecee Thunder

Might look at other Edmonds stuff too. I love big LPR gliders. Hit me up. I’ll pay fair. Got a lot of cool stuff I might trade too.

    Estes New Launch Rail

It's expensive but looks to be very portable and light. I currently fly a lot of mid power stuff off of a heavy weight 10-10 set up that can easily handle K class motors in 40 lb rockets...that's a lot to lug out to fly a couple Fs at the my undisclosed high desert test range.

older altimeters still good? How old is too old?

I fly a lot of old baro altimeters...anyone got a link on how to do cheap and dirty vacuum testing?? I probably should check em out.

I think you have yourself a J220WL. Am I correct that the propellant in this motor has that grayish/bluish look rather than the more black looking blue thunder?

    AeroTech Open Thread

The 54 looks to be a white lightning...that propellant does not look like the blue thunder you'd see in the J700. What's kind of grain does it have? The F14 looks late 90's, early oughts. The F55 is 2001 or older, that motor never re-entered production after the fire...in fact I'm not so sure...

The Jet Freak is fun, simple, and cheap

Here’s my jet freak. Probs has six flights on it. To me the slight charring is no big deal.

The Jet Freak is fun, simple, and cheap

Hey Tony Yes, motor is ejected at apogee. I suppose a person could tape a short piece of streamer to it to slow its descent and make it more visible on the way down. Mine is built with the wings papered with that adhesive paper stuff people use for shipping labels. I did that just cuz I’m...
